Q&A about makeup and hair for your wedding

You’ve probably never booked a makeup artist or hair stylist before…

But don’t worry!

I’ve got you covered with a list of the questions I get asked the most from brides-to-be about getting ready for their wedding day.

Do I need a professional artist?

The last thing you want to do on your wedding day is stress about doing your makeup. Having a professional makeup artist will allow you to relax, knowing you’re going to look your best without having to stress in the process!

Can you travel for my wedding?

Absolutely! Being in Wollongong allows easy travel to all popular wedding locations across the Illawarra, Southern Highlands and South Coast. Travel fees apply and will vary depending on where you’re getting ready for your wedding. This fee will be part of your initial quote.

What makeup brands do you use?

I use a range of professional makeup brands that are tried and tested, to all suit all skin types, ages and colours. Some of my favourite and most-used brands include NARS, Estee Lauder, MAC, Hourglass, Inglot and Model Rock Lashes.

I want to book you! What next?

Amazing! I can’t wait to be part of your wedding day. First, use the form on my home page to check my availability and get a quote. Next, a non-refundable deposit is payable to secure your wedding date. If you would like a makeup and/or hair trial appointment, we can organise this also.

Do I need a makeup trial?

A makeup trial is completely optional, but if you want to try different looks, are not used to wearing makeup or want to spend time perfecting your look, then it’s a good idea. If we can’t organise a trial, we can discuss your vision before the day on an audio or video call.

What do I need for the day?

I recommend a lip product for photos, a powder or concealer for skin touchups and a hydrating spray to keep you feeling fresh all day. I can help with recommendations for these products either at your makeup trial or via email.

Will my makeup last all day?

Absolutely! All the products I use are long wearing and comfortable. Having a professional makeup artist with you on the day means you’ll get all my little tips and tricks to help the products look amazing all day and into the night!

Will my makeup be cakey?

I have worked with lots of brides who just want a natural look and to feel themselves - it’s totally doable! It’s the way your makeup is applied that makes it long-lasting, not the thickness. We’ll design the perfect look thats right for you.

Whose makeup do you do first? When does the bride go?

I like doing a bridesmaid, mum, or guest first. My sweet spot for the bride is second last so we eliminate any stress that can come up going very last! I would highly recommend to avoid going last as much as possible!

When is final payment due?

A non-refundable deposit is payable to secure your wedding date, with the balance of your invoice due by bank transfer two weeks prior to your wedding date.

Have another question?

There are SO many questions I’ve been asked over the years that aren’t listed here.

All the best!
