How to have a smooth and relaxing wedding day morning

As a professional wedding makeup artist, I am one of the first and only people outside of the bridal party that will be with you on your wedding day morning. I have experienced a lot of different pre-wedding mornings, some are relaxing and carefree, others where unfortunately people are late, stressed, and unorganised!

From my experience, here's some tips you and your bridal party can use for your pre-wedding morning to ensure you are relaxed, having a nice time, and not rushing out the door before your ceremony!

Create a timeline

You are likely having both a wedding makeup artist and wedding hairstylist coming in to glam you all up. Then, introduce a time the florist drops by, family members pre-wedding visits, and of course, you’ll have your photographer and maybe a videographer coming in too. Hectic, I know! Make it easy on everyone- particularly you- by creating a timeline for the morning, so your bride tribe knows when to arrive, get ready, and ensure hair and makeup are finishing by the time your photographers are arriving. This will ensure the smoothest of transitions and should guarantee less stress for everyone.

If you are one of my brides, I can help you create a timeline for your wedding day, come and chat with me now about this!

Assign tasks to your bridal party

Allocate your bridesmaid’s different tasks for the morning so you have less on your plate leading up to your ceremony. Having someone in charge of a breakfast or grazing board, and depending on your ceremony time, you may want to even squeeze in a light lunch. You may not feel like eating a huge amount but it’s a long day, so having small nibbles to get you through is a great idea.

Don’t forget the vibes!

Allocate another bridesmaid to be in charge of not only some bubbles to sip on during the morning, but also music and a speaker! You may be getting ready at a hotel, or Airbnb and they might not have a way to play music, so make sure someone packs a portable speaker and has pre-planned playlists to enjoy!

Allow plenty of time

Allow a minimum of 1 hr, if not longer before the ceremony to get ready. Chat to your photographer/videographer as they may want a longer for photos before leaving for the ceremony. Keep in mind travel time, getting into your dress, getting flowers organised, and even just cleaning up your house/hotel, particularly, if you aren’t coming back. Don’t leave things like accessories, shoes, and bags, etc until the last minute, set aside some time in the morning to get these ready.

The last tip I have for you now is to have your bridal party get ready 15 minutes before you do so that they can help you get ready, get any last-minute things you need, without worrying about their own outfits.

I hope this helps you plan your wedding morning, go ahead and add these little details into your timeline!
