5 makeup products you need on the wedding day

Your wedding day is almost here!

While all the big decisions are likely out of the way, you’ll have lots of little last-minute things to take care of.

One of those things should be preparing a small makeup bag for your wedding day.

After you have your makeup professionally done, you want to keep it looking amazing all through the day and night - especially if your makeup is scheduled for early in the morning, then you want it to last for a really long time!

While the makeup look we’ve planned for you is designed to be long wearing and durable, you never know what might happen on your wedding day - rain, extreme heat, tears, you name it!

So let's get you prepared with 5 makeup products you should have with you for your wedding day.

1. Face Powder

Face powder is a must for your wedding day, especially if you have oily skin. I recommend a compact/pressed powder for convenience! Choose a translucent powder one purely just to reduce oil and smooth out the skin, or a coloured powder to add a bit more coverage throughout the day.

2. Lip Product

I say ‘lip product’ instead of lipstick as there are so many options to choose from and it will depend on what look you are going for. Purchasing and packing the same lip colour you’ve planned to use with your makeup artist is ideal for touch-ups, but you could also opt for a coloured lip balm for a softer look, a clear or coloured lip gloss to give you a glowy pout or a liquid matte lipstick that won’t smudge while you eat, drink and kiss through the night.

3. Hydrating Facial Spray

This is one of my favourite products - it’s like splashing your face with cold water at the end of a long night! Hydrating facial sprays are an amazing product to keep your skin and makeup looking and feeling hydrated and healthy, not to mention a must-have for keeping you cool on a hot day. You can use it as much as you like, just spray it at an arm's length so it doesn’t disturb the makeup. My favourite hydrating sprays are Fix+ from MAC and Mario Badescu’s Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater.

4. Concealer

You definitely won’t need a bottle of foundation for touch ups, however a small concealer is the perfect thing to have with you to help maintain a flawless look all day. Wedding days are very long so you might need a little pick-me-up under the eyes, or to keep that sneaky blemish hidden!

5. Mini Lash Glue

Having fake lashes for you and your wedding party is very popular - and they look incredible! Unfortunately though, tears and fake lashes don’t really go well together. So if you think you and/or your bridal party are going to get a bit teary on the day, grab a mini lash glue to ensure your lashes stay perfectly in place!
